Our founder Shishir is a civil engineer with an artistic flair. He specializes in bamboos houses with a seamless integration to the vastu standards. He graduated from Bangladesh, where 70 percent of the houses are built of bamboos. He believes bamboo has not achieved its glory that it deserves in Nepal. Currently, he is researching on bamboo treatments and its connection, especially using the available local technology.
Nripal, as a designer has worked with adobe in New Mexico, USA, Germany, Mongolia and is currently based in Nepal. He is our trendsetter. He has intiated this ambitious project to promote the tradition materials so it can cater to the modern sensibility. He is designing a housing model that does not rely on the city grid and produces no waste, instead the house, plays a productive role, like a tree, in the ecosystem. And at the same time have the added benefit of thermal comfort, beauty that helps not just the environment but also the local economy.
Murari Adhikari but we call him dada, which means the big one. Yes he is the big one indeed. Without his legal and financial advice, abari does not move an inch f. He is our senior Lawyer.
Our dear Roshi is a master craftswoman. She is a 17 old protegee. She works with reed, and has created some of the most intricate pieces of work. She also gives training.
Shankesh Subedi is heading our Research and Development department. He is a civil engineer by training, and with his great managerial skills and technical brain, this new department is hoping to make some radical contributions that can change the way we view the traditional materials.
Our intern Krishna, is a young dynamic and versatile. He is studying marketing. He just completed his schooling and he is searching for different options. With his superb marketing skills, we know he can sell mud and bamboo to anyone. His love of earthern material has brought him to Abari.
Kurt Gardella has adobe mixed in his blood. He especializes not only on adobe sun dried bricks but also adobe softwares. Our website would not have been possible without him.

Basanta and Shova Adhikary are the modern day nomads. From the arid desert of Mongolia to the tropical farms of Laos, they have worked intensively promoting sustainable agriculture. They do what they preach. They are our major source of funding as well as inspiration.
Guido Mueller from Germany works for a Telecommuncation firm Infinion. He is indeed a great mountain hiker, he recently conquered 5000 meters in the Himalayas. He supports our Trustbari program, and he has commited 240 euro a year towards it. He is supporting Sunita and her family in Chitwan.
